8. In Hungary, Christmas Eve is
very important and is called
'Szenteste' which means Holy
Evening. People spend this day
with their family and in the
afternoon they decorate the

only the adults decorate the tree

they are told that Angels or
Jesus Christ gave the tree and
the girfts for them.

Harang csendül,

Messze zsong a hálaének
Az én kedves kis falumban
Karácsonykor
Magába száll minden lélek.
Minden ember
Szeretettel
Borul földre imádkozni,
Az én kedves kis falumban
A Messiás
Boldogságot szokott hozni…

Famous Hungarian song at Christmas
Kiskarácsony, nagykarácsony, kisült-e már a kalácsom?
Ha kisült már, ide véle, hadd egyem meg melegébe!
Jaj, de szép a karácsonyfa! Ragyog rajta a sok gyertya!
Itt egy szép könyv ott, egy labda! Jaj, de szép a karácsonyfa!
