Conscientious, reliable and self-motivated, I have been in continuous employment since leaving school,
working within the steel industry for 31 years. Within that time I have gained many transferable skills and
have proved willingness to undertake any training necessary to reach the targets of the company. I am now
looking for a challenging career that will allow me to expand on my current experience whilst also
providing me with career fulfilment and enjoyment.
I hold a Full Clean Driving Licence and I am willing to travel if necessary.
Employment History
1984 – 2015, SSI - Process Operator
Processing of coke through carbonisation in extreme heat. Putting coal into ovens and sealing to allow for
the destructive distillation of fuel. When heated all the impurities of coal are released. This was a
demanding role as I had to be very diligent when loading the coal as the ovens was extremely hot. I worked
to the strictest health and safety regulations at all times and ensured that all team members knew exactly
what they had to do and where they had to be at any one time.
1978 – 1982, CAPTB - Apprentice Instrument Technician
Learnt process controls, repairs to instrumentation, and different methods of control systems.
