• Harvest celebration
• A time to give thanks for good things in life
(ex: family, friends, health, food, a place to
live)
• A day to remember a feast shared bewteen
pilgrims and Native Americans in 1621

4. The First Thanksgiving
• Plymouth, Massachusetts
• After a good harvest, a celebration was held
between pilgrims and Native Americans to
give thanks for their good fortune

People invite family and

on sale at 12 am for 24 hours
• Many do their Christmas shopping on this day
