2. Alyssa I grew up in a small town in North Dakota and wouldn’t have it any other way. There is something special about being able to run up and down the sidewalks knowing all the people you pass. I am 21 years old and engaged to be married next year. My favorite color is green. I have 2 older brothers – 1 niece and 2 nephews that mean the world to me.

3. Alyssa continued…. I am majoring in Speech Pathology with hopes of graduating in the Spring of 2011 and moving on to get my Master’s Degree at MSUM.(hopefully!!) I want nothing more than to work with kids, they are happy with the little things in life and I think that’s something very important to remember.

4. Fun Facts I am 13 and 15 years younger than my brothers- and yes I was planned! I spent the summer after my freshman year as a nanny on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I love to read and spend time with family and friends. The Yankees are my favorite team to watch on TV.

6. My Hall of Famer: Gloria Yerkovich Founded a system for abducted children. This is very important to me because I don’t think any parent should every have to go through the pain of missing a child and now there is a faster way to get everyone’s attention about a missing child. What a fascinating woman!

7. Gloria Yerkovich She went through the horror of having a child abducted in 1974—by her natural father none the less! Gloria wasn’t reunited with her daughter until 1984. She started “CHILD FIND” in 1981, since more than 150,000 children are abducted every year a national registry of missing children was created. It consists of a picture and description of the child as last seen in hopes of reuniting them with their parents.

8. Gloria Yerkovich continued… She signed the “Missing Children Act” in front of the President of the United States as awareness grew. Talk about an achievement! She was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993. Gloria is still alive to this day and has seen the success of her thoughtful thinking.
