This document provides a visual overview of common fingerprint ridge patterns including arches, loops, and whorls. Arches have a single ridge across the finger tip from side to side. Loops curve in one direction with the ridge entering on one side and exiting on the other. Whorls have at least one ridge that forms a circular pattern on the finger.
