2. Howard Rose was born and raised in the beautiful parish of St. Elizabeth to Mr. Howard
F. Rose and Mrs Vivienne Jones on the 1st of April 1990. He grew up in the community of
Malvern in a small district known as Ginger Ground which is about ten minutes away from the
Bethlehem Moravian teachers college and twenty minutes away from the Hampton school for
girls. While living in Malvern he attended the Bethlehem all age school and later took the GSAT
examination and was placed at the Black River High school.
Mr. Rose attended the Black River High school from the year 2003-2008 where he
developed a passion for education and a love for children. During high school, he was a member
of the Debating team 2007-2008, member of the Headley cup team in 2007; he was also a
member of the under sixteen football team in 2004 and was also nominated junior prefect in
2007 and senior prefect in 2008. After leaving the Black River high school, with Five CXC
subjects, eight SSC and a level one Certificate in Electrical from Heart Trust NTA, Mr. Rose
continued to press towards his career and decided to participate in Youth Service and attend
extra class to do an addition four subjects which he did and brought his CXC subjects to a total
of nine and by the year 2009 he was accepted for three colleges; Bethlehem Teachers College,
The Mico University College and Caribbean Maritime Institute.
In the June 2009, Mr Rose acted based on the advice received from Mr. Rodney, who is a
lecturer at the Bethlehem Moravian teachers college and the Mico University College to take the
opportunity and attend the Mico University College and in August of that year the journey to the
Mico began.
3. The Mico University College has taught Mr. Rose not only to be a teacher but also to be a
manager and he has no regrets about attending the University College and is happy to be a
member of batch 174 and apart of such a noble institution that will develop his career in a field
that is vital to the society (the field of education).
Mr. Rose aim is to give his service to the country of Jamaica, to help develop the children
and to be a mentor to children in and out of the classroom.
