Here I am demonstrating that I have used camerawork that exists in a realism soap.
              These sort of shots portray the emotions of the characters really well
              and also makes you feel as if you are listening in on the conversation.

            wide target audience of
            around 13 – 60 year olds.

                 I decided that I wanted to choose ITV1 for my institution,
                like Emmerdale and Coronation Street. I researched many
                  Emmerdale trailers to see what conventions I needed to
                                          include.

Developing soap conventions                                         Q1


               Developing means to add something new in to an existing soap.

                                                                added an extra sub genre.
Challenging soap conventions                                Q1




                                                         This Made in Chelsea trailer
                                                             challenges codes and
                                                       conventions because it actively
                                                       goes against what the audience
Example of developing                                   are expecting to see. In other
       soaps.                                           words you wouldn't expect to
                                                       see a merry go round in a Made
                                                        in Chelsea trailer. This keeps
                                                           the audience interested.

Why I didn’t develop and challenge conventions      Q1



               I chose not to do develop and
                 challenge conventions as I
              wanted to make a more serious
                soap and I wanted to keep it
                 more traditional instead of
                    putting a spin on it.

               I felt this would make it look
                 more professional. It also
               wouldn't have suited my sub
                genre as I was doing social
                           realism.

                The location where we were
                filming was just right for my
              trailer, so it fitted the sub genre
                          really well.

Why I didn’t develop and challenge conventions Q1 I chose not to do develop and challenge conventions as I wanted to make a more serious soap and I wanted to keep it more traditional instead of putting a spin on it. I felt this would make it look more professional. It also wouldn't have suited my sub genre as I was doing social realism. The location where we were filming was just right for my trailer, so it fitted the sub genre really well.
