Poland's Presentation
1. Every country has something special, something interesting or strange, so does Poland. I read a lot of things about this country but I’ll mention just 10 things that in my opinion are really different from other countries.
2. The name ”Burek”, which means a brownish-grey color, is very popular as far as cats’ names in Poland are concerned .

4. Poles have won 17 Nobel prizes up to the present, including four Peace Prizes and five in Literature.
5. Of all the members of the European Union, the residents of Poland are said to marry the youngest. Is it true?
6. According to a report on child well-being in rich countries, Poland is second in terms of healthy life style and third in terms of educational well-being. Poland has the lowest percentage of overweight people (7,1%)
7. Saint John’s Kupala is a popular holiday in which people jump over fires, a tradition that predates Christianity.
8. Przystanek Woodstock is the biggest open-air festival in Europe–an annual free rock music festival in Poland, inspired by and named after the Woodstock Festival.

10. Marzenna is a tradition where people weave straw dolls and decorate them with ribbons. These represent the end of winter, and the beginning of spring. When the snow starts to melt, they proclaim the beginning of spring and chuck the Marzennas into the river or stream, symbolically ‘killing’ the winter.
11. In Poland, bananas are peeled from the blossom end, not from the stem end.

13. I’d like to go to Poland… To me Poland has an interesting history and it is a country where you can have new experiences.
