5. Managing Multiple Authors
Why
have
more
than
1
author?
•

more
than
a
single
author
offers
a
wealth
of
possibilities.

7. Managing Multiple Authors
First
tip-‐
Create
a
private/
internal
team
blog
Why?
• You
want
your
team
to
feel
like
they
are
actually
a
team
and
giving
them
a
place
to
come
together
and
collaborate
is
a
great
way
to
do
that.

8. Managing Multiple Authors
First
tip-‐
Create
a
private/
internal
team
blog
How?
• Set
up
a
subdomain
site
like
authors.yourcompany.com
and
use
a
theme
(
P2
is
the
recommended
theme).

10. Managing Multiple Authors
User
Roles
and
Capabilities
It
is
important
to
make
sure
your
authors
are
aware
of
their
roles
and
what
they
are
or
aren’t
allowed
to
do

to
all

who
can
publish
and
manage
posts
including
the

of
other
users.

manage
their
own
posts.

who
can
write
and
manage
their

but

What
about
custom
roles?
Justin
Tadlock’s
Member’s

allows
you
to
create
custom

with
very
granular
permissions

Time
for
the
heavy
duty
tools...
• Editorial
Calendar
• The
editorial
calendar
gives
you
an
overview
of
your
blog
and
when
each
post
will
be
published.
• Great
for
single
author
blogs
(told
you
there
would
be
something
in
here
for
you
single
authors).

25. Managing Multiple Authors
Overall,
a
very
powerful
tool
for
managing
multiple
authors
and
creating
a
workAlow...but
there
is
something
missing
still
from
this
process

26. Managing Multiple Authors
You
need
a
style
guide....
How
do
I
make
sure
everyone
is
following
my
format?
Using
consistent
terminology?
Using
the
right
fonts?
This
is
WordPress,
so
there
must
be
a
plugin
for
that
right?

31. Managing Multiple Authors
Lets
take
a
plugin
called
WP
Help
,
six
rubber
bands
and
an
empty
coke
can
and
turn
it
into
something
we
can
use
as
a
style
guide.
(Actually,
we
just
need
to
use
the
plugin
and
change
it’s
purpose
to
suit
our
needs,
but
the
rest
just
sounded
cool)
