Learning
Cooperative learning activities
• Jigsaw
Each group is assigned with some
unique material to learn. As they learn
the materials, they decide what is
important and how to teach it.
Later each member of the group goes
to another group and teach the
materials that they have learnt in their
original groups.
Note: When students change their groups, each member of the
new group would have a unique material to teach the others.
Think-Pair-Share
The teacher pauses a question or
problem to the whole class.
Each member of the group think
about the answer/solution
Share your view with your partner
(in pairs)
Everyone in the group discuss and
express their opinions.
Round Robin Brainstorming
One member of the group is assigned as
the recorder.
A question with many possible
answers is paused to the group.
Some thinking time is given for the
group members.
After the "think time," members of the
team share responses with one another
The recorder writes down the answers of the
group members.
One member starts and each person in the group in order reads
out an answer until they have learnt the materials.
Three-minute review
• Teachers stop any time
during a lecture or
discussion
• Gives teams three
minutes to review what
has been said
• Ask clarifying questions
and let them answer
Team Pair Solo
Try to solve your problem in your
group.
Discuss the solution with your
partner
and then think about the solution for
yourself.
Circle the Sage
• The teacher asks the class if they have a
special knowledge to share about a
certain topic.
• the sages stand and spread out in the
room.
• The teacher then sends the rest of the
students to the sages to form groups.
• They discuss the topic and go back to
their original groups.
• Teacher asks questions related to the
topic and the group members answer by
discussing what they have learned from
the sages.
