Spending 85% of JFS budget on health care is not a sustainable policy or budget decision – Creation of the Office of Health Transformation.
Safety net services preserved in recognition of the most vulnerable:
Commitment to provide OWF, Food Assistanceand Medicaid.
Housing Trust Fund held level.
Foodbanks cut by only $500K per year in GRF.
Greater flexibility – they asked for it – they got it!,[object Object]
The Bad - Unless the Gold is Found ODJFS 2012/13 Budget request includes 68% Federal & 32% GRF fund appropriations, encompassing 8 programs.  Non-Medicaid GRF funding to ODJFS continues to decrease.  In 2008, GRF funding was $968 Million, and in 2011 it is estimated to be $831 Million. ,[object Object]
57% increase in Ohioans receiving Food Assistance since 2004.
In 2010, 2,362,792 Ohioans received some amount of food assistance.
2.7 weeks FA benefits last each month.
