This document provides steps for creating a subtheme for the Bartik theme in Drupal 7. It involves:
1) Creating folders and files for the new subtheme
2) Configuring the .info file to set theme name, description, base theme, and regions
3) Creating blank CSS and image files
4) Copying color files from Bartik to enable the color module in the new subtheme
The final step is enabling the new subtheme from the administration page.

This is an example steps of how you can create a sub theme for Bartik
1. Create the folder: /sites/all/themes/yourtheme
2. Create the file /sites/all/themes/yourtheme/yourtheme.info

3. Create a blank file named: /sites/all/themes/yourtheme/css/yourtheme.css
4. Copy from bartik or create your own: /sites/all/themes/yourtheme/logo.png
5. In order to get the color module to work with your subtheme, you will need to do the following:
1. Copy the file /themes/bartik/css/colors.css to /sites/all/themes/yourtheme/css/colors.css
2. Copy the folder and its contents /themes/bartik/color/ to /sites/all/themes/yourtheme/color/
Go to the the Administration > Appearance page to enable your new subtheme called Yourtheme.
Now you can add CSS to your yourtheme.css file, and it will apply to your new subtheme.
