2. Career Wardrobe
The two maxi dresses, and the flower patterned sun dress, synch at the waist line then
flow/drop to my ankles hiding my thighs and emphasizing my small waist making me look
slimmer, and the side slit in the purple maxi shows off my legs. The dresses also have sweat-
heart/V-necks giving the illusion that there is more to my chest than what actually exists. The
bell sleeve shirt and the purple sweater have high-low bottom trims giving the illusion that my
thighs are smaller as well as not cutting me off at my widest part. The A-line skirt fits at my
waist and flairs out and like the dresses, which has a slimming affect as well. The high rise light
wash flair jeans are also slimming because the flair balances/makes my thighs and my calves
more proportioned, and because they are high-rise the jeans make my legs appear to start earlier
on my hips and therefore longer/lengthening them. The long cardigan, although it does not synch
at the waist, hangs long enough on my body that it also does not cut me off or sit at my widest
part but rather far below my thighs/butt. The two bright out-line/patterned knitted trims of the
cardigan run vertically parallel up and down the center of my body giving my waist and hips
more of a column look, but also do not leave a gap too wide between the sweater (when you tie
the pom poms) so that your eye does not bounce between them, which would make me look
wider. The skinny jeans do not draw attention to my legs because of their darker color and rather
one’s eye focuses upward towards the other patterned and lighter colored blouses and sweaters.
None of the shirts are form fitting and are rather loose, neither showing off or fixing the fact that
I’m flat chested, simply ignoring that feature which does not need to be fixed. The V-shaped trim
of the cowgirl boots and the cross straps of the sandals make my ankles look slimmer and the
knee high leather boots smooth over the rough lines of my athletic calves. The Fringe jacket is
not form fitting, but is fun and the fringe textured lining the sleeve shows off/draws attention to
3. my long arms. The off shoulder top emphasizes my broad athletic shoulders and the boat-neck
sweaters/blouse and bell sleeve shirt show off my neck, collar bones, and shoulders but at the
same time softening their silhouette. My head is also very oval so I try and side part my hair and
cover most of my forehead with side bangs, but I’ve also found that a hat pushes more hair
around my face, framing it and making it look smaller. The cross body bag because it sits on one
shoulder breaks up my shoulders as well as sits between the natural waist and hips, balancing my
entire figure.
This outfit is slightly more professional with a
conservative neckline ivory blouse/sweater and
dark wash jeans that don’t draw any attention to
my thighs, and that look like just dark navy blue
or black pants. The cowgirl boots are fun and
the heel will make a slight sound and make me
taller implying power but are still fun. The bad
is simple and good quality leather nothing to
bulky but shows an employee who is organized
enough to fit everything in a small bag.
Business Outfit for American Eagle (Sales Associate) Causal Outfit for college student
This outfit is more for hanging out around college
campus or being outside and isn’t necessarily
appropriate for an interview at work because of
the exposed legs and underarms and low neck
line. The dress synchs at the waist and stops at
about finger tip length emphasizing my waist and
hiding my thighs. The hat is just a fun accessory
as well as serves the purpose of shading my face
in my many outdoor adventures.
