New career app for young professionals in the aerospace industry
1. PRESS RELEASE
New career app for young professionals in the aerospace industry
The ARTS youth site aircareer.de is now also available as a mobile app. From now on, the positions
for young people posted on the site by companies in the aerospace industry will appear
automatically by push notification on the applicants' phones. With the new applications for Android
and iPhone devices, young professionals can not only find out about current job offers, but also
obtain information about careers and the aerospace industry on their smartphones.
The target group of aircareer.de are young professionals aged between 14 and 29. According to Statista,
88 percent surf the Internet daily and nearly 40 percent access it by phone. The workers of tomorrow
also almost exclusively look for jobs on the Internet and increasingly on the mobile web. This is
confirmed by the percentage of people accessing aircareer.de by phone: Currently it is at 32 percent and
the previous year it was only 27 percent.
The leading career portal for the aerospace industry responds to current trends and has developed a
mobile app which has been available for retail since July for Android and iOS devices. The demands on
career websites are well-known to the youth site via regular user surveys. Accordingly, detailed
information about job postings, the application process, employers, and also the industry are particularly
important to users. These factors also play a major role in the "demand for mobile availability". When
asked what general information channels are preferably used for the job search, most respondents
answered "online job boards." Here, too, using the Internet via mobile takes high priority: The survey
shows that young professionals in the aerospace industry especially prefer mobile availability when
searching for jobs.
Christian Vetterlein, Project Manager at aircareer.de, is pleased about the active use of the app in its first
days and is already planning the next steps: "After being available in the shop for only 5 days, about 100
users have already downloaded the app. By the end of the year we also want to provide the complete site
in a mobile design and once the new Windows Store 10 is available, our app will also be available for all
Windows phone owners."
