The document summarizes complex 3D CAD models created by the author, including detailed models of Indian electric locomotives. The author modeled a WAG-7 locomotive from scratch in multiple subassemblies like the bogie and underbody. Animation of doors, windows, wheels and pantographs were also included. The below models which I have created using CAD software’s are examples of complex
3D designs which takes strong grip over CAD software features to achieve.
WAG-7 isthe name of a type of electriclocomotiveusedwhichisverycommonlyusedinindiawitha
maximumpoweroutputof 6000hp.I have modelledthislocomotive rightfromscratchwhichcomprises
large numberof intricate shapesandcomponents.Firstdifferentsubassemblieswere made which
includesthe (1) Bogie Assembly,(2) UnderBodyAssembly,(3)MainBodyandthe (4)Electrical assembly.
Animationof doors,windows,wheelsandroof toppantographis alsoprovided.Precise constructionof
the parts startingfromsketchingthe parts,creating3D model outof it andaccuratelyassemblingthose
parts isa bigchallenge whichIhave succeededtoaccomplish.Thismodel canbe usedforvarious
simulationpurposes.Made in SOLIDWORKSandoptimizedin 3DSTUDIOMAX.
