DAY ADVERT
Outfit One
The denim shirt which has some rips in
with some white jeans which has a slight
hole in the knee and adidas superstar
trainers. This outfit is very lay back and
comfy, but the colours will stand out from
the red phone box behind her connoting
the ability to stand out which the clothing
gives to the consumer. This re-iterates the
ideas of clothing giving confidence and
represents Gauntlet’s theory of an
empowered woman who always has control
over herself. This also suggests that women
can perform whatever gender they like as it
quite a masculine outfit look (Butler’s
theory). The branding of the trainers
communicates the importance of
consumerist goods, the ownership of which
supports a capitalist system, according to
Marxist.
Outfit Two
For outfit two, we have a white top
with ties on the side and grey jeans
with silver converse. The silver
converse stand out due to them being
shiny, this is stereotypical for a girl to
be wearing something girly and
sparkly. The grey jeans give off a
more dungy look, very opposite to the
shoes but this turns the outfit down
to more casual look. The jeans being
skinny jeans shoes the models figure
more which connotes the models
confidence with her body and the way
she looks with the clothing making
her look better and making her feel
better about herself.
Outfit Three
Outfit three consists of a black strappy
top, checkered top and the silver
converse. The fitted strappy top covers
her chest but she shows more leg. The
showing of the legs fits in with Barthes’
idea that clothes and a hint of skin
sexualizes the female more than nudity.
Here is the promise of sexual
gratification to the audience.
This outfit together connotes the models
personal respect for herself, she shows
some skin but not everything, she keeps
it to herself. The silver shows connotes
femininity and confidence with the shine
of silver.
Outfit Four
Outfit four is a grey skirt, white crop top with
snake skin pull ons. The white top is off the
shoulders which will enhance her collar bone
which is conventional to show if you are a
model. We are aware that thin models in
advertisement for a brand whom aren’t the
average size of a female are criticized , but our
model is not severally thin, she is the average
size and her collarbone isn’t too prominent.
The white is angelic making the model look
innocent. The skirt is a soft, gentle fabric which
connotes the models confidence she’s getting
from the clothing meaning the the audience
will find it easy and natural to wear the clothes.
The snake skin shoes give the outfit some
shasam and femininity.
NIGHT ADVERT
Outfit One
The black dress with a gold sparkly
bottom with gold strips going down the
body is our first night outfit. The gold
sparkles connote femininity and
confidence. The black contrasts against
the sparkles making them stand out and
the black makes the sparkles stand out
enough too be seen but not to be too in
the face. When in the studio, the studio
lights will catch the light of the sparkles
and puts the model in the lime light.
The delicate black high heel shoes are
also very feminine but the black gives
them the sexy, confident edge the model
wants to look and feel like.
Outfit Two
The dark blue crush velvet dress
catches the light and gives off a
slight shimmer. Wit h the dress
being crushed velvet material it
connotes the soft and gentleness
of the female model on the lighter
bits of the fabric but then the
darker bits give the edgy, sexy
side. The black heels which are the
same as those in outfit one give
the outfit femininity and sexiness.
Both together, give a sexy,
empowered outfit for the model to
wear to make her feel confident
and in control of herself.
Outfit Three
Outfit three consists of a sliver
top, black skirt and black heels.
The silver, shimmery top
connotes the models femininity
and confidence to stand out in
the light. The black skirt and
heels connote empowerment,
showing that they are confident
and ready to go out and show the
audience that they should be
able to feel like she does.
SPONSORSHIP SEQUENCE
Outfit One
Outfit one consists of skinny black jeans,
high neck black peplum top and snake skin
shoes. The black skinny jeans show of the
models legs which gives a sexy, sleek look
but the high neck top connotes the
innocents of the outfit, showing only arm
skin. The snake skin shoes bring the
interest into the outfit, they give the
clothing the extra interest. The pattern on
the shoes stands out against the black with
the white and grey on them, this connotes
the model wanting some attention in her
clothing which could be a read as her
wanting to be in the male gaze (Winship’s
theory)
Outfit Two
Our second model for our
sponsorship sequence shall be
wearing black jeans, a white
floatey top with black and white
heels. The black skinny jeans
show of the models legs which
gives a sexy, sleek look but the
white top gives a more innocent,
angelic look. The black and white
heels are very delicate but the
swirly pattern gives the outfit
edgy glamour's look. This can be
seen as a conventional
simulacrum (media version of
reality) of women e.g. the ‘VB’
look (Victoria Beckham).
Outfit Three
Outfit two is a high neck black crop
top, a patterned white skirt and white
court shoes. The white on the skirt
and shoes connotes innocent and
angelic. The white will stand out on
the models skin making her stand out
from the crowd connoting her
confidence and empowerment over
other women. The black top shows off
her figure showing femininity and
confidence. The simplicity of the outfit
is appealing to our audience because it
connotes that they already have
beauty which is easy to translate via
our brand as the audience is aged
between 18-25 and are in the Blue
Collar Enterprise mosaic group.
Outfit Four
The night time outfit will consist of a
plain bodycon black dress with black
court heels. We chose a tight black
dress to show off the models model, to
show that she feels confident in the
clothing and wants to show it off. The
black court heels connote
sophistication. The mixture of tight
dress and sophisticated shoes
connotes that she has control of how
she wants to look, there is sexiness
mixed with cosmopolitan.
