Who is Crime stoppers?
We are an independent charity helping to find criminals and help
solve crimes.
We run the anonymous 0800 555 111 phone number that you can
call to pass on information about crime. Alternatively people can pass
us information anonymously via this website, using our Giving
Information Form.
Callers don't have to give their name or any personal information and
calls cannot be traced. This means you won't need to appear in court
or give a statement to the police.
4. Fearless
0Youth workers from Fearless, our brand
for 11 to 16-year-olds, hold workshops
in schools and youth clubs on crime.
These sessions cover a variety of crimes,
including knife crime. We also produce
free Fearless knife crime posters, which
you can order from the Fearless.org
website.
5. Drop The Weapons
Know when to say no. Picking up a gun or a knife always
makes a situation worse never better.
This is a website from the Metropolitan Police where we aim
to show you how real people can turn away from violent
crime.
If you've got ideas on how to help people to drop the
weapons,
then we would like to hear from you.

0 ChildLine is the free helpline and online service for children and young
people in the UK. Children and young people can call 0800 1111 or visit
www.childline.org.uk to talk to a trained counsellor about any problem, or
talk to other young people on the message boards.
0 Victim Support
0 Victim Support is the independent charity for victims and witnesses of crime
right across England and Wales. Their services are free of charge and
confidential. Call the support line on 0845 30 30 900.
0 Street Pastors
0 An interdenominational church response (lots of different churches working
together) to help solve neighbourhood issues including gangs and group
violence.
0 GATES
0 Gang Advice, Training and Exit Support’. The GATES project is aimed at
providing support to young people in London who are affected or concerned
by gang violence and other crimes linked to gang activities.

0 "I recently dealt with a case at the St Albans Crown
Court involving a young man of 18 years of age who
had been charged and convicted of an offence of being
in possession of a firearm. Charges of firearm
possession or gun possession now carry minimum
sentences, and the minimum sentence that this young
man was facing was 5 years imprisonment.

0 On Saturday 31st March Slough Library will host a live music event
held by Aik Saath and SWIPE Music to raise awareness of the
dangers of knife crime.
The third anti-knife crime music event organised by the two Slough
charities, will kick off at 7pm on Saturday 31st March on the second
floor of Slough Library. The acts performing span from Rock to R’n’B
and back again. Despite the Library’s rule of silence, it is thought to
be one of the best music venues in the area because of the quality of
the acoustics that the shelves of books provide.

I have spent a lot of time researching many different charities and organisations and
your's really stood out to me , it brings young people together through a common
interest and uses that as a brilliant tool to get across a really important message.
I have been gathering footage of interviews with young people trying to find out how
they feel about the issue and the older generations to find out where they stand on the
whole thing , but I feel that its very important to get in contact with somebody really
trying to address this issue and wondered if anybody in your organisation could spare
a short amount of time for an interview.
