2. My Connection With The Novel. When we was reading the novel I tried to make connections with the book. We wrote on post-notes, and talked about it. For example we find out that April don’t get along with her Grandmother very well so we wrote on post-notes how our relationship with our Grandmother is.
3. April. I am writing about April. I though that April was a kid that not get enough attention from here mother. In the start her and her grandmother , Caroline don’t get along very well. They don’t know each other very well, so April call her Caroline and not Grandmother. Later in the book April start to change, she lets more people in to the Egypt Game, she stops being bossy and started to care about her Grandmother. All this happens because she got friends that really care about her. In the end she actually start to love her Grandmother and she is a completely new person.
4. Simile. When you compare two things you call it a simile. You use ‘’like or as’’. Ex: ‘’He was tall and bent and his thin beard straggled up his cheeks like dry moss on gray rocks’’. Pg 4 This means that the Professor don’t care about him self because he has lost his wife.
5. Personification. When its human. Ex: ‘’Big hard fingers smothered the scream that sprang into her throat’’. Pg 183 This means that she was very scared.
6. Metaphor. To say something ‘’is’’ when its not. Ex: ‘’It was almost as if the old mans deadly silence was a dangerous dark hole that had to be filled up quickly with lots of words’’. Pg 21. This means that the Professor was silent and dint say a word just like a dark hole.
7. Essential Question. 1. To make a good friendship you need to have the same interest, respect, trust and kindness, this is the main ingredients of a good friendship. In the book April and Melani both like to read and do a investigation about what they read. They both respect each other by letting them both have a chance at giving ideas to the Egypt Game, because the trust each other that it will be a good one. They both are very kind to Elizabeth, Toby and Ken by letting them join in the Egypt Game.
8. Essential Questions. 2. When you are 5 years old your family have to take care about you and make sure everything is okay. When you are 15 you start to get teenager problems, and you parents start not to be important, when you turn around 25 years old you don’t see your parents a lot, maybe you got married and got kids, if that is the situation you are in you need your parents to be grandparents and when you turn 45 you start to loose your parents.
9. Thank you for watching To be honest I did not really enjoy to read the novel because I don’t like to read at all. The book it self is very exciting, especially when the girl gets killed, I like to read that kind of stuff, but not when the book is many pages.
