Demo deck
1. Demo Deck for Novigo Labs
a new concept for bringing
innovation, education and market
opportunities together.
Presentation done for Stanford Technology Entrepreneurship course
providing prototype for Business Model Canvas.
2. What is Novigo Labs?
• a collaborative platform to enable smart people
from around the world come together and
complete innovative projects
• a collaborative tool to allow international
collaboration on various research projects
• a platform offering privileged access for
businesses & industry to latest innovation trends
• a tool to help foster innovation in education,
increase students engagement and challenge
talent
3. Why start the project?
• To help solve the world‘s problems faster,
cleverer and in a more efficient manner
• To speed up innovation through facilitating
collaboration between teams working on the
same or similar idea but situated in different
corners of the world and having access to
different resources.
• To improve education by encouraging talent to
unleash ist full potential
• To reduce over fragmentation and lack of
communication among scientists
4. How it works?
• A web platform will be the main gate which
will facilitate the coming together of
innovators, educators and resources
• Users registered on the site will be able to
search for people or facilities pursuing the
same or a similar idea and team up with them
15. Results 1
Have you ever participated in a research project?
Would you love to get involved in a research
project and unlock your creative and
professional potential?
16. Results 2
• Assuming you would like to pursue & develop an innovative
idea, how would your working group look like? (multichoice)
– Friends and / or colleagues …… .. .53%
– Will do it alone …………………..… …. 22%
– Family members …………………..…. 17%
– Local community …………………… …33%
– National participation ………………. 31%
– International participation … ……..47%
– I have no interest in innovation … 0%
The above results show that most people would prefer to entrust
their friends or colleagues with the participation in an innovative
project, BUT in the same time consider the national / international
collaboration as a highly valuable option
17. Results 3
If the needed resources are not available to you locally,
what will you do?
I'll wait till they are made available to me 6%
I start looking for money to allow me to get
the resource that is missing 19%
I'll look for external collaboration
possibilities 67%
I'll get stuck 0%
I give up on the project all together 0%
Question does not apply to me 8%
What we learn from the above is the willingness to search for a
solution and not give up. A platform facilitating easier access
to possible collaborators and resources seems like a good idea.
18. Results 4
If you will face the choice of having to engage complete
"strangers" in order to complete a project, what will you choose?
I will agree to share my knowledge and
involve others in my project 72%
No way, it's my idea I rather do it
myself or it can die 3%
Need to think about it 22%
No way 0%
Question does not apply to me 3%
More than 70% of possible users are willing to share their
knowledge, so basically open for collaboration!
19. Additional gained information
We have received some valuable input through answers to the additional open question
„ Is there any resource you know of which would enable you to quickly & easily connect
with other innovators?”
Most people we interviewed did not appear to have a very specific resource to appeal to.
The first resource though, was the internet and the social networks. An online platform
focused on innovation, proves therefore a pretty good idea to start with.
Many have quoted LinkedIn as a possible channel to find peers and collaborators.
In our opinion however, LinkedIn is much to broad and not really focused on innovation,
but mostly on career opportunities and business contacts.
It was however marked as possible competitor.
Other participants named local events or conferences but complained they do not always
have the needed financial resources to participate.
Interesting input we received: “The limitation on connecting with people that can be
trusted when a good idea is "out there" is more a matter of time. “
20. Some more feedback
We were pointed out to the fact that innovators are not necessarily driven by money,
all they need is a fair pay to be „worry free“ and able to concentrate on innovation.
„I don't think creative people necessarily all want to become Steve Jobs, they may just
need the supportive environment to develop new ideas. „
One more feedback concerned the fact that bureaucracy is most of the time the source
of mistakes and limitations and that hierarchical structures and fear often obstruct
collaborative efforts and prevent the free flow of truthful information.
An other respondent told us that it would be wise for us to get involved with
the crowdfunding industry.
A very valuable idea we take with us and will seriously consider, in more than one way.
