Railroad Crossing Closures at Superior St & South Dr. (6-10 May): Team Scott, Norfolk Southern RR will be on base 6-10 May to
repair the railroad crossings located at Superior St and South Dr (Tab). This is a change from the original 23-25 Apr dates dues
to last Thursday's rain. Repairs will require a two-day closure of both crossings. CES has constructed a temporary gravel road to
allow commercial traffic to detour through the LRS compound from the Mascoutah Gate during the closure. Detour signs will be
posed and Norfolk Southern will manage any additional traffic control other than barricades & detour signs. There will be no
access between the east and west sides of the base from South Dr / Illinois St during the closure. If you have any questions,
please contact CE Customer Service at 256-2202. See the Map here: http://slidesha.re/17ypW8M
PCSing? Check out Military OneSource “Plan My Move”: Take charge of your PCS move. Plan My Move provides you with access
to information about your entitlements and benefits, to points of contact, checklists, planning tools, and information on education
and employment. Fill in the following information about your move, click "Get Moving" and we will get started. If your new
assignment cannot be found, select a nearby installation.
How to Make Sure You Have a Smooth Move: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) season is fast approaching, and most military
families start doing research on housing, schools and installation amenities as soon as they get orders in hand. Perhaps the best
way to prepare for a move, however, is by having an emergency fund in place. Moves are expensive, and although many of the
costs may (eventually) be reimbursed, there are plenty of unexpected pitfalls that may be encountered. These difficulties can
derail the best of budgets and plunge military families into debt. Read more: How to Make Sure You Have a Smooth Move
Stretch Your BAH With These 6 Simple Steps: If there's one skill you should have in your money-saving arsenal, it would be
knowing how to get the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to your BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing). When you're
stateside, you receive all of your BAH regardless of the amount of your rent, which means that if you spend less than your BAH,
you pocket the rest. If that isn't motivation to live moderately, I don't know what is! Read more: Stretch Your BAH With These 6
Simple Steps
4 Mistakes the PERFECT PCS'er Made on Her Latest Move: Here is a hysterical PCS piece to start off your day! “So, now, as I sit
here on my folding chair with my computer propped up on the other folding chair, staring at the receipts for the $1.45 Hanes
tank tops I bought because I was running dangerously out of clothes and well, I don’t want to spend a million dollars on a new
wardrobe to alert the general public about our ‘lavish lifestyle,’ I want to share with you what I did wrong on my PCS. These
things I didn’t pack? Maybe you should."
Fisher House “Hero Miles”: People can donate their frequent flier miles for families to travel to be with their loved ones in the

provide free airline tickets to support wounded, injured and ill service members and their families who are undergoing treatment
at a military or VA medical center or who are attending authorized events. http://www.fisherhouse.org/programs/hero-miles/

Efforts Continue for Spouse Professional License Portability: “Just finding and securing a job presents its own set of challenges in
any military family move, Beauregard said, noting that the tempo and frequency of moves is disruptive. A spouse may be at a
duty station for two to four years, he added, and in that time must establish a home, get children in school and look for
employment.” Read full U.S. Department of Defense article here: http://1.usa.gov/11DyEP8

How to Make Sure You Have a Smooth Move: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) season is fast approaching, and most military families start doing research on housing, schools and installation amenities as soon as they get orders in hand. Perhaps the best way to prepare for a move, however, is by having an emergency fund in place. Moves are expensive, and although many of the costs may (eventually) be reimbursed, there are plenty of unexpected pitfalls that may be encountered. These difficulties can derail the best of budgets and plunge military families into debt.
