Question 2
The main featured pictures in this edition of my magazine magazine is a
Rock girl band The magazine targets both genders in the 17 – 26 age
group similar to popular magazine such as NME & Kerrang
This particular issue focuses, upon the Girl Band GLOSS as you can
see in the two pictures they both feature 3 people looking directly at the
reader looking happy & confident. This corresponds with the
presentation of the social group in the Kerrang Magazine.
On the right 1 of the people has there arm over the other persons
shoulder, my image on the right features Anna place her hand onto
Alice’s shoulder – this suggests a a friendly group of musicians who like
being together. The girls in my magazine picture show similar facial
expressions to those on the kerrang magazine,
Kerrang image has no background, from a boy girl perspective they are
dressed similar, the lighting in the photos is similar they both have a
lighting which is in front of the, my image is representing a normal social
group, there is nothing abnormal or obscure about there
appearances, which helps get my point that behind the girl group gloss
there is a normal group of friends
The mise en scene is similar between the 2 pictures, they are both mid
shots both the images show direct mode of address to the
audience, which helps the audience feel involved
Don’t need musical props because the other conventions of a Music
Mag including Title Cover lines & text tell the reader of the Magazine
genre, the girl group are casually dressed which helps emphasise that
they are just a normal group of students that have put there musical
talent to good use, this particular edition of my magazine Appeal to
younger adults target audience features the young adult girl band so this
issue is aimed towards younger adults aged 16 – 26
