Manzanar relocation center was used back in WW2 where over 10,000 prisoners were held.
Mostly all the prisoners were Japanese Americans.
5. Dead forest Zone in Mammoth

Formed by eruptions that ended over thousands of years ago. Now is known as
the dead forest zone in Mammoth.

Old shoreline is where all the vegetation and bushes cease. Current is where the
water ends now and the ancient shoreline is by the hill that surrounds mono lake.
8. Tufa
There were cold and hot springs inside mono lake and when fresh water would flow in to mono
lake and mix with the lakes water it created tufas.

This lake was named in 1871 when convicts were on the run and were hiding out here. They were caught and
hung here.
