2. The first ancillary task has to be completed
by the 16th of July. I chose to do the
poster first as I can't really review the film
if I haven't made it yet.
To be effective, my poster will have to
reflect the film and draw the attention of
the viewer without revealing too much
about the film. At the moment I want the
poster to not show the girls face, but have
it covered somehow with a background of
the sky or ground. I want it to look simple
and isolated like the character.
3. The poster will include the name of the
film down the side in big letters. The
poster is there to appeal to viewers
and get their interest, which is why it
needs to be engaging and a bit
mysterious. I looked at posters for
BBC films short films and searched
short film posters on Google images.
Most of them had poster ideas
similar to mine.
4. I have included some examples of
short film posters to show how they
are laid out and presented. I will be
taking some photographs for the
poster tomorrow (12th July) and edit
and create my poster and post it to
my blog for Monday (16th July.)
5. This poster is for a
thriller drama short
film. You can tell it is
for a short film
rather than a
blockbuster because
of the film festival
quotes and
comments.
I like the way the title
is bold and the other
text is a bit faded.
I will incorporate this
idea into my poster.
6. This is an ammeter
short film poster.
I like the way only one
side of the face is
shown. This adds an
element of mystery,
which is a key theme
for my short film.
I think the top of the
poster is a bit plain
because it has no text,
although this does
create an impact.
7. This is a poster
some body made
for a film trailer,
for their media A
Level.
Although it doesn’t
have to right
things on it for a
short film poster, I
like the layout and
the way the
lighting conveys
the genre of the
trailer.
8. This is an animation
short film poster.
It must have been a
good one because it
has many nominations
and one win.
I am going to include
these quotations from
film festivals on my
short film poster.
