These include: •Universal Music Group- The largest Of the Big Four and the Music Companies. •Sony Media Entertainment- The second Largest Music Company •Warner music Group- The third Largest Music Company •EMI Music Publishing- The fourth largest music company, but is the smallest in the big four. The Big Four labels, also known as major record labels, represent the majority of the music sold, making up as much as 75% of the music market. The big four is owned by Live Nation which stands as the biggest promoter and music venue, and in return they control the live music Industry.

3. Warner Music Group: Warner Music Group is the third largest business group and family of record labels in the recording industry, making it one of the big four record companies. WMG was also known as Warner Bros Records .Warner Music or Warner Bros Records was founded in 1958 and for most of its existence it was one of a group of labels owned and operated by larger parent corporations. Warner Bros Records was eventually sold to Seven Arts Production in 1967. During the 1970s, the Warner group built up a commanding position in the music industry. In 1970, it bought Elektra for $10 million, bringing in leading rock acts. The same year, the group established its first overseas offices in Canada and Australia. It is the largest due to its strong market share and its multitude of global operations. Universal Music was once the music company attached to film studio Universal Pictures. The company was founded in 1934, known by Decca Records. The secondary headquarters is considered to be situated in New York City, in the United States.
